VARTAN
The vibrant, expressive work of Los Angeles artist Ruby Vartan.
Ruby Vartan is a Los Angeles–based contemporary artist whose work is defined by a powerful use of color and emotional expression. Born in Beirut and classically trained at the Academie Libanaise des Beaux Artes, Vartan draws deeply from her Armenian heritage to explore themes of identity, memory, and desire. Her paintings merge cultural influence with personal narrative, creating visually striking works that resonate with both energy and meaning.
Her work has been exhibited in Southern California at Launch, the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH:CEDAR), Cactus Gallery, Ace/121 Gallery, and Studio Channel Islands, as well as in New York at Ace Gallery. Internationally, Vartan has exhibited numerous times in Yerevan, Armenia, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Yerevan Art Expo. She also participated in a cultural exchange program in digital public art at the metro system in Gimpo City, South Korea.
